BRITISH EXTRCATION CHALLENGE
Central Scotland Fire and Rescue service will be hosting the British Extrcation Challenge at Stirling University from 21st to 23rd August 2008. The event will involve a road accident rescue challenge and a trauma challenge held over two days. (Friday and Saturday) The event this year was held in Cardiff and had 47 fire services from throughout the UK represented at it.
The theme over the two days will be on road safety and both events are open to the public with free entry on both days. We are hoping to attract as many people to the event as possible and have already been in contact with Visit Scotland who are very happy to help promote the event.

We will be showing the Safe Drive Stay Alive film in the Logie Lecture Theatre twice a day with a showing in the morning and in the afternoon again with free entry. The film will be open to all members of the community who are 15 years of age and over as it has a 15 certificate.
At this time we are at the early planning stage for the event and are hoping to include other partners to help promote the road safety message. The Central Scotland Safety Camera Partnership been approached to have a presence on both days.
We would at this time welcome any ideas regarding promoting the event, other agencies to approach regarding road safety and any funding for the road safety initiatives.
If you have any enquiries regarding the event do not hesitate to contact the event organiser Iain McCusker on 01324 716996.
